Cool Indie Brand: Vena Cava

Brooklyn-based designers Lisa Mayock and Sophie Buhai have proved to become quite the masterminds behind Vena Cava, a quietly elegant line of ready-to-wear that enhances the wearer's own beauty. Inspired by vintage collections and their own personal style, wearing a piece by Vena Cava is much like wearing a special piece handed down from a sophisticatedmother to a graceful daughter. Most of the prints are hand-drawn. Buy at Barney's, Harvey Nichols, or select upscale botiques.

They come a close second to Geren Ford when it comes to choosing easy and light dresses to throw on!

A day for spokesmodels

Marc Jacobs has just named Victoria "Posh Spice" Beckham as the new face of Marc Jacobs.

After much whisper, it was finally announced after the photo shoot with Juergen Teller took place after Halloween.

This is not much of a surprise, as lately Mr. Jacobs has appeared to be morfing into the VB robot! Perhaps peoples ideals of beauty change with time, and now its all gloss and glass.

SJP in PS for SATC movie!

Enough acronyms for you?

Sarah Jessica Parker is back at it showing off all the beautiful clothes we have to look forward to for spring. The most recent pictures from the Sex and the City movie shoot have Carrie in Proenza Schouler Spring/ Summer 2008

Two London Loves: Collaborating

Liberty of London and Dover St Market are in business! Thats right, the exclusive luxury in-house label Liberty has agreed to launch an exclusive handbag collection at Dover Street Market.

The handbags will be uniquely Liberty, with their box shape and embossed with the Liberty print. The exclusive part will be the bright metalic colours for spring.

"Tamara Salman, Liberty of London's creative director, has taken the iconic Liberty of London Box bags and given them a true element of fantasy in these bright bold metallic colours," a spokesperson for the retailer explains

See them at Dover Street Market just after Xmas

Miu Miu goes ultra girly

If you walk into Miu Miu at this moment you will see a store full of pink and purple, similar to the girls clothing department. Only with Miu Miu, there is embossed leather, high sex kitten heels, cheerleader skirts and matching suit jackets, all in luscious confection colour palate.

What do you think of this cotton candy hued collection? Lolita would love it!

Stir me up a pair of those Stir-ups

Last week, Josef and I went to Bond st to check out the Men's Prada merchandise for Fall. The afternoon turned into an obsession with the stir-up tailored pants Miuccia put out for Men's Ready to Wear. A nod to the traditional jockey uniform, could this really be the next "it" men's look? I must admit, I'm a bit of a sucker for a man's ankle. This may sound odd, but think about it, how nice does a man look when hes wearing loafers without socks? The ankle is most definitely an overlooked part of a mans body which exemplifies the very ruggedness of his being. Well, maybe an overstatement, so on to the stir-ups.

Paired with the Glace Oxford Lace ups and the perfectly tailored blazers, it takes a stylish man to pull off such a look. The style is very equestrian approach to the tailored pant, what a great shape for the new suit.

These pants are the perfect opportunity for fashionable men to break out of the homogeneous fashion zone that menswear is in just now.

If you cant afford Prada (they run for around £280) get yourself over to a Riding store, where I'm sure you can find riding pants a plenty.

The Row: Now in Video

Seems like its a day for the Olsen's

Here's a brilliant video filmed in the Hollywood Hills, exemplifying their brand and mood. Like we've said before, The Row is focusing on simple shapes, done perfectly. I love the styling and, although PETA will have a field day, I think the fur adds a touch of Glamour.

Mary-Kate in Nylon Magazine

Mary Kate is in the new Nylon Magazine for Dec/Jan. In the interview, she portrays herself as any down-to-earth girl that loves high heels, coffee, and experimenting with clothing.

Here are the pages:

I always love the styling Nylon does for their magazines. They take high fashion items and make them look different and wearable every day. I have no doubts MK was a bit of a help as well. Have to love that mask!
