This coming October, Ms. Furstenberg will be unveiling a new collection inspired by Wonder Woman.

This is not the first time fashion and superhero's have co-existed; last spring, the annual Met Gala was theme was based on superhero characters.

Of the collaboration, von Furstenberg said: "Wonder Woman is the ultimate symbol of female strength, independence and freedom. When Warner Bros. approached me to collaborate, I immediately thought it was a fun idea that would reinforce my belief in women and commitment to their empowerment. The collection will inspire every woman to be the Wonder Woman she wants to be."

Why? I get Claudia and Christy returning for a second run, but Ms. Evangelista does nothing for me. Prada is usually so forward with model choices, but this is an odd fit for me. The beautiful, structured lace creations need a soft angelic (young) face to give the collection a modern and youthful edge. What do you think, does Linda fit for the new campaign? Sorry Sasha.

Sometimes a girl needs a little variety, so if you are like me, you were overjoyed when Lagerfeld put his touch on tights for Fall 2008. Lately, I have been so enamoured with classic French dressing.

Yesterday I took my favourite fashion buddy shopping for the usual trip around the shops in London. We decided to check out just how good the sales are (however we ended up drooling over all of the new merchandise for Fall 2008 Part 1)

Our mate at Balenciaga took out the brand new hand painted one of a kind dress made of latex. The price tag is hefty- 31,000 GBP. That's $62,000! No wonder the store only received one, which no doubt will be snapped up straight away by some Russianista in seven inch stilettos. Perhaps.

The photos do not do this collection justice; I even remember looking at the reviews and photos when they debuted on style.com and shrugging to a less impressive follow-up to Fall 2007 (hard to beat, admittedly!)

The sales were better than we thought- considering at this time of the summer, most merchandise has been picked over by the many 'vultures' wanting a bargain. I ended up with a pair of Balenciaga heels (will fit in for Fall 2008) and Josef caved in and bought a pair of Martin Margiela 'jazz shoes' he had been lusting after for quite some time now.

Labels slashed 80%

Okay, I'm sure by now you are seeing a pattern: we are all looking for labels on the cheap due to this annoying credit crunch. Gas prices are high, and the cost of living has gone up so high, Ive even had to give up my favourite daily splurge latte in the hopes of keeping my closet thriving. Well, who knew all I would have to do is travel on the tube to Islington, where the longest running sample sale has just moved, the designer warehouse sale.

Stock is said to be replenished daily, and the promise is to deliver designer goods for about 80% less than the retail price. To be honest, I love going to places like this because unlike the usual stroll around department stores, you never know what little gems you will find- and the likelihood of someone else wearing the same thing at a cocktail party is slim to none.

Ive already devoted my Thursday to scoping out the new bigger and better warehouse.

Ms. Liz Jones over at the Daily Mail is reporting that summer sales in London will be huge this year. With the first week marking at least 40% off retail price, and because of the poor sales this fiscal year, there will be more merchandise for the offering! And its not just the leftovers; Alia gowns, Chloe clutches, Dries van Noten elegant printed dresses, Missoni jewelry, and those covetable Lanvin heels. Sales expected to begin the last week of June. Sarah Jessica Parker was promised that the dress she wore (Nina Ricci) for the New York premiere of Sex and the City had never been worn before...! She was lied to! And speaking out too.

The dress has been worn previously by Lauren Santo Domingo with Oliver as her date to the Met Gala earlier this year:

She is not taking it lying down, either. She says to the NY times:

“In the big picture, this is not important, but there is a relationship between the entertainment industry and fashion. We’ve watched sales dwindle and we’ve watched people be less inclined to spend money on clothes.”

To Parker, these are reasons for companies to take particular care with their relationships. “Look, my affection for the dress hasn’t changed,” she said, “but what they did was so short-sighted. It’s just unethical and disappointing that they would allow the dress to be worn again.”

Parker says she remarked to Theyskens during the fitting that she was surprised the dress hadn’t been worn before. He assured her it hadn’t.

“He didn’t say, ‘Well, actually I just escorted Lauren down the red carpet at the Met.’ ” said Parker, adding, “I just wish it had been handled differently and they had been straight about it.”

Normally, a dress worn twice is not such a big deal for red carpets, but as SATC is all about the fashion, we would have expected a one of a kind for Ms. Parker.

Just when we thought the trendy Robertson Blvd. was getting tired, a major player joins the street. The retail store is said to be an abbreviated version of the main store, only offering younger styles, nail polish and makeup. Sounds like a more fun version!

The LA times describes it as:

"The concept behind the mini store -- designed by Peter Marino, who is also responsible for Chanel's stunning Rodeo Drive revamp -- is to present a tightly edited selection of the season's pieces, including ready-to-wear, fine jewelry, accessories and cosmetics, similar to what a shrewd fashion editor might handpick for a photo shoot, said Barbara Cirkva, president of Chanel's fashion division. Merchandisers may focus on a certain color scheme or a trendy silhouette or handbag within the larger collections."

Today, Josef and I went for a stroll along Mount st. in Mayfair, popping into Balenciaga and Christian Louboutin. Just for fun I decided to try on a pair of ultra Spring 2008 strappy zipped heels.

Gucci: The movie

Ridley Scott will be directing, and they will be using Gucci's archives for history, family secrets and original Gucci pieces from the 1960s to the 1990s that will feature in the film.

It will show the small beginnings of Gucci from an Italian family business to the ultra successful Tom Ford's sexed up version of Gucci during the nineties. (even whispers of Clive Owen to play Mr. Ford)

Liberty of London and Dover St Market are in business! Thats right, the exclusive luxury in-house label Liberty has agreed to launch an exclusive handbag collection at Dover Street Market.

The handbags will be uniquely Liberty, with their box shape and embossed with the Liberty print. The exclusive part will be the bright metalic colours for spring.

Last week, Josef and I went to Bond st to check out the Men's Prada merchandise for Fall. The afternoon turned into an obsession with the stir-up tailored pants Miuccia put out for Men's Ready to Wear. A nod to the traditional jockey uniform, could this really be the next "it" men's look? I must admit, I'm a bit of a sucker for a man's ankle. This may sound odd, but think about it, how nice does a man look when hes wearing loafers without socks? The ankle is most definitely an overlooked part of a mans body which exemplifies the very ruggedness of his being. Well, maybe an overstatement, so on to the stir-ups.

Paired with the Glace Oxford Lace ups and the perfectly tailored blazers, it takes a stylish man to pull off such a look. The style is very equestrian approach to the tailored pant, what a great shape for the new suit.

These pants are the perfect opportunity for fashionable men to break out of the homogeneous fashion zone that menswear is in just now.

If you cant afford Prada (they run for around £280) get yourself over to a Riding store, where I'm sure you can find riding pants a plenty.

This morning, hungover and disheveled, I go to my local Starbucks around the corner. I see an immaculately dressed woman in front of me. All I can think is, "Where is that coat from?!?! I know I have seen it somewhere."

So finally, at the other end where everyone stands about waiting for their drinks as if they were a prize, I blurt out "I love your coat!" She turns to me, looks me up and down, then in a sharky Eastern European voice: "Balenciaga"

I knew I had seen it. And I will always wear my designers to Starbucks from now on. She did look fabulous, had paired the coat with skinny jeans, Cutler and Gross sunglasses, and Robert Clergie oxford tie-ups.

Some of our most famous icons such as Brigitte Bardot, Aubrey Hepburn, Marilyn Monroe and even modern beauties like Ashley Olsen and Daisy Lowe have all confessed to wearing Unisex or Men's fragrances.

I myself do this as well. Any typical girl can take a bottle of Freesia and spray it all over herself and walk around smelling like flowers. BORING. Women with unique taste, style and even a bit of gumption agree the scent of a man worn on a woman is the most mysterious act. Having said that, here are a few of my favourites:

Marc Jacobs Orange:
At first it smells very sweet and girly, but give it twenty minutes to develop into its full capability. You wont be able to stop smelling yourself. Neither will he!

Tom Ford Men:
This enchanting aroma as Mr. Ford put it is "that slightly dirty, sensual, sexy smell." Definitely not your average musk, put it that way! (Plus, you've got to love that Ad!)

Hermes - Un Jardin En Mediterranee:

You know that salty and sweaty scent you get after a long day at the beach? This is a vacation in a bottle. Its sweet orange blossoms mixed with bergamot give it that unique masculine scent. I highly recommend wearing this on all occasions... especially hot dates. (side note: This is my signature scent)

Jo Malone: Pomegranate Noir
This fragrance gives earthy mystery to any femme fatale. With pomegranate, pink pepper, raspberry, plum, opopanax, frankincense, patchouli, musk, and spicy woods this is no ordinary scent. Worth the money, as you will smell as you are, perplexing.

As we all have different tastes, it is important to stay true to your own personality. I am always interested in other people's signature scents- so please let me know!

Yes, I just quoted Cher from Clueless. She loved Mr. Alia's dress so much- she argued with a robber about it. Azzedine is making a huge comeback, and stores like Barneys and Liberty are taking a notice! Never to conform to the season's best, Alia has kept with his signature skintight dresses oozing with sex appeal. He might be just the man to thank for pushing out of the voluminous rut we have been stuck in for the past three seasons. Marios Schwab and Preen would be no where without this spandex loving designer.

Dubbed 'King of Cling', Azzedine Alaia is a perfectionist about cut, drape, and construction. His clothes are complex in structure - some garments contain up to 40 individual pieces linked together. His technique of sculpting and draping gives much respect to the body's shape and movement. He is said to be very much inspired by the most impressive fashion 'sculptor' of our time, Ms.Madeleine Vionnet, the great designer of the 1920s.

July 2, 2007 Paris: The typically outlandish Galliano shocked everyone with his spring 2008 collection he premiered at Versailles. The show was a stunning display of Galliano's talent with structure, fabric printing and giving us the awe-factor performance.

Besides the homage to Christian Dior's post World War II new look, Galliano also paid tribute to Versailles- and Ms. Antoinette. His palette existed from some of the greats of impressionism. It is fantastic to see such delicate design from Dior, as the years previous have been hard edged and lacking demure lines.

Libertine for Target: Preview

Next up for the Target Go:International program is NYC/LA Libertine. The best way to describe this line is as a punked out J-Crew. Famous for silk screening Tuxedo jackets and tailored shirts, seems like Libertine has found an equal balance for all types of customers for Target. A preview of their line, coming to stores starting July 15, 2007

A brief background on the Libertine brand via Target Press:

"The Libertine brand was born in 2001 after New York-based Greene (at the time a graphic designer at DKNY) sent her L.A.-based friend and aspiring actor, Hartig, a t-shirt with a gorilla silkscreened on it. OK, so lots of skinny black ties on men. Glad to see they finally got the memo. I sort of love it when they wear them with jeans and sneakers. On to the girls: most of the girls looked excited for summer- probably wearing their new hot weather dresses. I saw a huge nod to vintage bohemian which will always be the California cool way to dress. Unfortunately, still seeing those huge shapeless bag dresses which for some reason keep appearing on racks and make ordinary women look like they are wearing a potato sack. These shoes are super cute! I saw this line revamp last fall in special LA boutiques as well as in Steve Madden stores- but it seemed the styles were just for indie girls. For spring, there are more styles for every type of shoe lover! I personally have the ankle strap flats (shown in turquoise) and they are so comfortable. Great for in city walking or a night out.

So, yesterday I popped into Opening Ceremony in LA; such a hidden treasure of a store. Nestled behind a secret garden which also happens to be Charlie Chaplin's old stomping grounds (literally). My NYC friends are fans of the city's location as well.

Open Ceremony is the place to go for before-the-moment clothing. I love all of the brands (they even have Topshop!) and their in house line is superb but I especially am in love with Marios Schwab's designs.

I tried on some of his line for topshop a while back, not knowing how big he was (which I shamefully admit!) but his own line is more amazing times ten.
His body clenching attached under piece sucks you in where you need to be tucked, and the fit is breathtaking. Just take a look at some of his pieces. I love how the pieces are oozing with sex appeal yet are completely sophisticated.

He will report to Marka Hansen, president of Gap North America, and Gary Muto, president, Gap Adult and gapbody. He begins his new role May 29.

As fall gears up for the Smart-Oxford look- streets/bars/clubs/(and runways?) are filling up with geek-chic fashion followers.

All the specs you see are from shuron ltd. They have been making frames for a long time, and just their luck- the frames are in style again! I just picked up the Freeway frames- very inexpensive ($70.00) compared to the Oliver Peoples ($300.00)

If you are not really blind like so many of us- but want to look cool- buy cheap sunglasses and knock out the lenses!

Cruise Control: Chanel Resort 2008

Location: Santa Monica Airport

Lagerfield did a 70s spin while installing the same elegance Chanel gives every season. Resort is always more playful and lighter than the Fall Collection but the color palette is never too far off from the season prior. I love the periwinkle and red combination; and it looks like minis, high-waisted pants, long dresses and headbands (a few of this springs standouts) are here to stay! Frankly- I couldn't be more happy about it, as those shapes have been so influential in fashion history.
